Bangalore, India :- He tried to blackmail her by impersonating her and putting up a porn website in her name. But he met his nemesis when the cyber crime police arrested him on Thursday, after a hot pursuit of nine months.
Prince John (21), a native of Kerala and a ‘resident’ of Bangalore East, misused the friendship of his neighbours and started making untoward advances towards their 13-year-old daughter. He asked her to marry him and that’s when her family sensed trouble and asked him to stay away.
Prince didn’t stop at that. Instead, he created a website in her name and posted some objectionable material, which linked to other pornographic sites along with the address and contact details of the family. He then informed the girl’s cousin and asked them to watch it.
The result was that the girl’s family started getting nasty calls from strangers, who visited the website. The traumatised family, initially tried to reason with Prince but when they realised it had gone beyond their reach, they lodged a complaint in May 2007 with the Cyber Crime police station at the CoD.
“Soon after the complaint was lodged, Prince fled Bangalore. It was very difficult to track him because he had left behind fake addresses and contact numbers.
The team led by Detective Inspector (Cyber Crime) Raghavendra Hegde started questioning the people Prince was last seen with in Bangalore and went to Kerala, where they arrested him on Thursday from Ernakulam. He was brought to Bangalore today,” said Dr BA Mahesh, SP, CoD (Cyber Crime).
