CHARLOTTE -- A Providence High School student has been charged with committing a cyber crime and faces tough school disciplinary measures for allegedly posting defamatory information about a teacher on a Web site. The district is also taking disciplinary action against four other students who were involved.
Last week, thanks to a parent tip, CMS learned that a Web site included derogatory and offensive comments and photos about a teacher.

A student created the online message board as a prank and included a link to a Web site called teacherpedofiles.com. Other students posted information on the site, including classroom photos taken without the teacher’s knowledge or consent. Some of the comments accused the teacher of being a pedophile, which prompted the criminal charges.
