KOLKATA, India :- The City-based National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS) was forced to remove its website — from cyberspace on Tuesday afternoon after hackers linked it to a pornographic site.
Institute officials and students confirmed the development and said the hacking had led to acute embarrassment as the site was frequently visited by alumni as well as prospective students.
“The hits on our website had shot up recently as we had hosted information about two major events lined up for this week. When we found out about the mischief, we had no option but to stop access to the site,” NUJS cyber committee member Ramanuj Mukherjee said.
