'The cyber cell, to be opened by the Forensic Science Laboratory, will be under the charge of the criminal investigation department (CID). The cell will be known as cyber forensic wing (CFW),' a senior police official told IANS.
He said the cost of setting up CFW will be around Rs.5 million. In the first phase, the state will invest Rs.2 million and the rest will be borne by the central government.
'The officials who will work under the CFW will be given special training. They will be taught how to deal with such crimes,' said a police official. He added that at present the state does not have any law dealing with cyber crimes.
